The Customization tool allows to modify the model of the object that's being edited, and to access text customization.
Selecting vertices
A vertex is a point in space where one or more edges of faces end. They can be moved in the Customization Tool to shape the model according to your needs.
To select vertices:
- Click any Vertex to select it (it will appear red)
- Click and drag with the Right mouse button will turn on the marquee selection of vertices. It is especially useful for more complex assets.
- Hold Ctrl to select multiple vertices at a time, or to remove a vertex from the selection.
Mouse tools
- The Customization tool has 3 mouse tools, accessible from the window : Position, Rotation and Scale.
- In Position mode, you can move a selection of vertices : click anywhere and drag around to move the selection of vertices. The movement will snap to the X and Z axis, hold Ctrl to disable snapping.
- In Rotation mode, you can rotate a selection of vertices around the vertical axis by left clicking left to right.
- In Scale mode, you can scale a selection of vertices up or down by left clicking left to right.
- While using any mouse tool, you can type in the movement value with the keyboard, whether it is a distance, an angle or a scaling factor :
- Click and hold using any mouse tool,
- Type the value (can be negative, commas can be inserted - the units can be changed in the settings panel)
- Press Enter or release the mouse click.
- Regardless of the mouse tool, you can move the vertices with the keyboard the same way as the Position mode of the General tool.
- Arrow keys to move the vertices left/right/forwards/backwards
- PageUp and PageDown to move the vertices up or down.
- Hold Alt to slow the keys action down and/or Ctrl to have a continuous movement instead of incremental.
Actions
Actions can be applied from the window. Some apply to the whole object (global), others apply to a selection of vertices and therefore require a selection.
- Recenter Object origin (global) : place the object origin at the bottom of the model.
- Merge vertices (selection) : merge all vertices of a selection into one.
- Align vertices (selection) : place all the selected vertices on a straight line.
- Flatten selection (selection) : place all the vertices of the selection at the average height of the selection.
- Snap selection to ground (selection) : move selection of vertices as a whole to the ground.
- Snap each to ground (selection) : move each vertex of the selection to the ground individually.
- Conform selection to Terrain (selection) : Snap each vertex to ground but keep their relative height (conforms to the terrain surface)
- Conform selection to Terrain, Networks and buildings (selection) : Snap each vertex to ground but keep their relative height (conforms to the terrain surface, networks and normal non-PO buildings)
